Namera Docs

Environment Variables

Configure credentials, API selection, storage, and terminal output.

NAMERA_API_KEY

A secret API key for ordinary account, session-key, execution, signing, and auth status commands. When set, it takes precedence over saved CLI OAuth credentials and the selected profile. Obtain it from your workspace and supply it through a secret manager or CI secret store.

It does not authorize MCP, affect local import authorization, or replace browser consent for namera login. Unset it to use a saved CLI connection.

NAMERA_API_URL

The API URL used with NAMERA_API_KEY. If omitted, API-key commands use https://api.namera.ai.

It also supplies the expected origin for session-key import when --host is absent. It does not override a saved OAuth profile, the login command's --host, or MCP's --host.

NAMERA_API_URL=http://localhost:8080 namera --output json wallet list

This example assumes NAMERA_API_KEY is already supplied.

XDG_CONFIG_HOME

Base directory for configuration. When present, Namera uses its namera subdirectory on every platform. Otherwise it uses the OS-specific locations in Profiles and Configuration.

Changing it does not migrate saved credentials or keys. Do not use it to work around keyring errors.

APPDATA

On Windows, supplies the roaming application-data base directory when XDG_CONFIG_HOME is absent. Namera uses its Namera subdirectory. Otherwise the fallback is AppData/Roaming/Namera under the home directory.

NO_COLOR

Disable colored CLI output by setting this variable:

NO_COLOR=1 namera wallet list

Output still uses readable summaries. Whether symbols use Unicode or ASCII also depends on terminal and locale support. TERM=dumb, redirected streams, and unsupported terminals use plain fallbacks; FORCE_COLOR=0 disables colors too.

Secret Handling

The CLI does not load a project .env file automatically. Export variables through your shell or use your runner's environment configuration. Never commit API keys, OAuth tokens, private keys, or export passphrases.
