Output and Errors

Read human summaries, parse JSON, and handle command failures.

Human Output

Found 1 delegated wallet:

The CLI prints one compact JSON value to stdout, not the SDK's { success, data, error } envelope. Successful list commands can return an array or a paginated object. Bigint quantities are decimal strings.

Quiet Mode

namera --quiet auth status

Successful output is suppressed, but the command still runs and failures remain visible on stderr. Quiet mode also disables operation-input prompts.

Failures

A failed command exits nonzero. With --output json, stderr contains one structured error object:

{
  "error": {
    "code": "INVALID_EXPORT",
    "message": "The encrypted session-key export is invalid or incomplete.",
    "nextStep": "Copy the entire import command from the dashboard. Do not paste a private key.",
    "retryable": false
  }
}

Use error.code for branching and nextStep for recovery. Do not parse human error text. Keep stdout and stderr separate when consuming JSON.

A command can succeed while reporting allowed: false, valid: false, or a submission with status: "failed". Check the returned fields as well as the exit status. A successful status lookup does not mean a successful transaction.

Retry Safely

Do not repeat an execution just because the response was lost. Check its saved submission ID, or reconcile the outcome first. Follow Handle Retries and Recovery.

MCP reserves stdout for protocol messages and writes diagnostics to stderr. Do not parse its stdout as ordinary CLI JSON.

Example output uses fixture accounts and hashes, captured with the CLI's output formatters. Plain-text output is shown without terminal colors; your values and relative expiry dates will differ.
