Namera Docs

Getting Started

Create an account, give a session key limited access, and connect your first client.

Set up an account and a session key, then connect an agent, terminal, or application. This walkthrough starts on Base Sepolia, a test network, and checks access before sending any transaction.

Open Your Workspace

Sign in to the Namera dashboard and check the workspace selected in the sidebar. Your accounts and session keys belong to that workspace.

You need permission to create accounts and session keys and authorize a client. If those actions are unavailable, ask your workspace owner or admin for access.

Create an Account

Open Accounts and select Create account. Enter a name you can recognize, such as Test account, and choose an available ownership option:

  • User-owned passkey: complete the passkey prompt to create the account's owner credential.
  • 1Claw Managed: create an account whose owner signing is managed through 1Claw.

After creation, open the account and confirm its name and address. You can also use an existing account in this workspace.

Keep your owner passkey available

If you choose a passkey-owned account, keep access to that passkey. Your Namera login cannot restore it, and you need it to approve onchain permission changes.

Create a Session Key

Open Session Keys and select Create session key. Choose your account and give the key a task-specific name, such as Test transfers.

For a small test transfer, configure:

  • Network: Base Sepolia.
  • Recipient: a separate address you control, permitted as a call target.
  • Native spending limit: 0.001 ETH.
  • Expiry: a future date that covers your test.

Leave signature authority and unrestricted account access disabled for this transfer-only key. Review the final permission summary before creating it. See Permissions and Policies if you are unsure what a restriction controls.

If creation provides an encrypted key export, complete the displayed encryption and CLI import instructions on the machine that will run your client. Save the encrypted backup and its passphrase securely before leaving the page. Never paste the private key or passphrase into an agent conversation.

Approve Network Access

In Enable networks, review the Base Sepolia installation and select Approve. Complete the owner approval required by your account.

Wait for the installation to be confirmed. A registered key is initially pending; it is not ready simply because creation succeeded. Before continuing, confirm that the key is active and Base Sepolia is enabled.

If you skipped network approval during creation, return to the session key's overview to finish it. Approval on another network does not enable Base Sepolia.

Connect Your Client

Choose how you want to use the account:

ClientNext step
AI agentFollow the MCP guide for your client, then approve its browser connection.
TerminalFollow CLI Getting Started and sign in with namera login.
TypeScript applicationFollow SDK Getting Started and create an API key with access to this session key.

Grant the client access only to the session key you prepared. A dashboard login does not automatically authorize an API key, CLI installation, or MCP connection.

Check Access First

Use your client to list accounts and session keys. For an agent, ask:

List my Namera accounts and inspect the Test transfers session key. Confirm its Base Sepolia access, recipient permission, spending limit, and expiry. Do not submit transactions or sign anything.

Confirm that the returned account and permissions match what you configured. An empty list usually means the connection has no active grant to the key; check the authorized keys and installation status in the dashboard.

You do not need to fund the account to perform these read-only checks.

Try a Test Transaction

When you are ready to transfer, fund the account address with 0.001 Base Sepolia test ETH. Use sponsored gas if available; self-funded gas requires additional test ETH and the client's gas-limit configuration.

Continue with the SDK or CLI walkthrough, or ask your connected agent to simulate the transfer and explain the result before you approve execution.

Check the resulting submission until it is confirmed or failed. Do not repeat the transfer just to check progress. After testing, revoke access you no longer need; session-key revocation also requires removal of any installed onchain permissions.
